Trauma in the Systems | 1 CE Credit

We often think about and operate from a lens of individual trauma, symptoms, and impact. Jenna Hertaus, MA, LPCC will present on larger, systemic trauma, and different levels trauma may be experienced as individuals, a group, and on an entire system. Additionally, as part of the mental healthcare system, how clinicians can support the impact of systemic trauma within the therapy process and professional consultation will be discussed.

The CARE Grand Rounds is intended to help attendees: 

  • Discuss trauma and its complexities across systems
  • Describe systemic trauma and it’s impact on mental health
  • As clinicians, name what can do to support post-traumatic growth within the therapeutic process

The presentation is designated for CARE psychologists and mental health professionals (LP, LPC/LPCC, MFT/LMFT, LGSW/LICSW, LADC), pre-licensed mental health practitioners, and students.

About the Presenter: 

Jenna Hertaus, LPCC, MA is a board approved licensed mental health therapist and supervisor. She is currently working at Children's MN as a Partial Hospitalization Therapist. Jenna is grounded in trauma informed care, focusing on the growth of children and adolescents with their families. Jenna is certified in EMDR and TF-CBT and trained in AIR Network, Bounce Back and CBITS. She has worked in multiple different settings, including inpatient, partial hospitalization, outpatient and school-based therapy. Jenna believes in a whole person approach when working with children and their family. She values the importance a team brings to children's growth. Jenna loves continued learning and growing opportunities. She has given several presentations on trauma, relationships, mental health interventions for school nurses and suicide prevention trainings.

CARE Counseling is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CARE maintains responsibility for this program and its content. It is the responsibility of each learner to verify that continuing education earned at CARE or elsewhere meets the requirements for their State and individual license.  

To receive 1 CE credit(s): Clinicians will need to attend the full training hour and obtain a passing post test score (max of 3 attempts allotted).  CARE maintains attendance records of all continuing education event attendees for a period of at least three years.
