Understanding the Body in Psychotherapy | 1 CE Credit

For this Grand Rounds training, CARE Counseling has partnered with Mary Clare Lindsley, PsyD, LP, a Licensed Psychologist who uses body-based approaches in her clinical work and teaching. Dr. Lindsley will share how to introduces body-based approaches to clients as well as some helpful body-based activities to use in session. Specifically, the speaker will discuss a holistic approach to psychotherapy, incorporating the role of the autonomic nervous system. She will speak on the differences between forms of activation and provide body-based resources to utilize in our practice with clients.

The presentation is designated for CARE psychologists and mental health professionals (LP, LPC/LPCC, MFT/LMFT, LGSW/LICSW, LADC), pre-licensed mental health practitioners, and students.

About the Presenter: 

Mary Clare Lindsley, PsyD, LP is a Licensed Psychologist, she co-facilitates the Mind-Body Skills & Psychotherapy Intensive Group and provides individual psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and supervision. Dr. Lindsley is a Certified Global Somatic Practitioner and has obtained graduate training in holistic health studies. She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma while utilizing body-based and a variety of other approaches.

CARE Counseling is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CARE maintains responsibility for this program and its content. It is the responsibility of each learner to verify that continuing education earned at CARE or elsewhere meets the requirements for their State and individual license.  

To receive 1 CE credit(s): Clinicians will need to attend the full training hour and obtain a passing post test score (max of 3 attempts allotted).  CARE maintains attendance records of all continuing education event attendees for a period of at least three years.
