CARE Counseling has partnered with Janet T. Thomas, Psy.D., L.P. to provide an overview on ethical decision making. Mental health professionals are frequently faced with dilemmas in the context of clinical practice. Recognizing the ethical dimensions of these challenges is the first step in navigating them effectively. This training will include a review of the fundamental components of ethical decision-making models and common ethical issues encountered by psychotherapists. Attendees will have an opportunity to analyze these ethically challenging situations by applying one or more decision-making models. Dr. Thomas will demonstrate strategies for identifying and mitigating compromises to objectivity in the decision-making process.
