PILT Training: The Clinician Journey: Factors of Resilience | 1 CE Credit

CARE Counseling will be presenting on the self-as-the-therapist and how that contributes to clinician wellbeing, the journey of the clinician through the various developmental stages and how that intersects with resilience, along with biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors of fatigue and resilience.  

CARE Psychotherapy Training Videos are intended solely for educational purposes for mental health professionals. Viewers are expected to treat confidential material found herein according to professional guidelines. Unauthorized viewing is prohibited. 

Level of programming is intermediate: assumes general familiarity with the topic.  

This training is designed to help attendees:  

  • Discuss one+ way “the self as therapist” influences resilience.  
  •  Name one+ aspect of clinician journey that impacts resilience. 
  • Identify one+ biological, psychological, social, and cultural consideration for resilience 

The presentation is designated for CARE psychologists and mental health professionals (LP, LPC/LPCC, MFT/LMFT, LGSW/LICSW, LADC), pre-licensed mental health practitioners, and students. 

CARE Counseling is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CARE maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

About the Presenters:  

Heidi Bausch-Ryan, Psy.D. LP, is a psychologist and the Associate Director of Training and Development at CARE Counseling. Heidi has studied the experiences of grief and losses associated with substance use and recovery, for the individual, family members, and significant others. She has received additional training in the area of substance use disorders, as well as delivered professional training presentations on grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, co-occurring concerns, recovery pathways, and resiliency. Prior to graduating with a doctoral degree, Dr. Bausch-Ryan worked in residential substance use treatment and on an in-patient dual diagnosis unit, serving adolescents to young adults with mental health and substance use concerns. Her clinical interests include grief, substance use and recovery, life transitions, identity explorations, and building resilience. 

Hannah Dufek, MS, LADC, LPCC is a mental health professional and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Specialist at CARE Counseling. Prior to working in outpatient mental health, Hannah worked in higher education as a career and academic advisor and participated in leading panels and discussions regarding DEI initiatives at the university. She has additional professional experience working at an intensive residential treatment facility as well as community mental health work supporting refugees and immigrants. Hannah has studied the experiences of marginalized groups in therapy and has training in assessing and treating substance use and recovery in individual and group settings. Her clinical interests include identity exploration and intersections, substance use concerns and recovery, relational work, and trauma.

CARE Counseling is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CARE maintains responsibility for this program and its content. It is the responsibility of each learner to verify that continuing education earned at CARE or elsewhere meets the requirements for their State and individual license.  

To receive 1 CE credit(s): Clinicians will need to attend the full training hour and obtain a passing post test score (max of 3 attempts allotted).  CARE maintains attendance records of all continuing education event attendees for a period of at least three years.
