Change & Transition: Practical Approaches | 1 CE Credit

CARE Counseling has partnered with NUWAY to provide a Grand Rounds training: Transition and change are inevitable and how one navigates these can have a direct impact on wellbeing. Hear from Alice LiuXia, LADC, LPCC, from CARE Counseling to explore when change shows up personally and professionally, how to encounter effectively as well as resiliently.  Alice will discuss adaptive ways to embrace change in therapeutic work with clients and in their own lives, through motivational interviewing, solution focused strategies, and strengths-focused approaches.  

CARE Psychotherapy Training Videos are intended solely for educational purposes for mental health professionals. Viewers are expected to treat confidential material found herein according to professional guidelines. Unauthorized viewing is prohibited. 

Level of programming is introductory: assumes minimal familiarity with the topic. 

This Grand Rounds is designed to help participants: 

  • Describe sources and dimension of change  
  • Recognize common responses to change  
  • Name interventions to use with navigating change 

The presentation is designated for CARE Counseling mental health professionals (LP, LPC/LPCC, MFT/LMFT, LGSW/LICSW, LADC), pre-licensed mental health practitioners, and students.  

CARE Counseling is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CARE maintains responsibility for this program and its content. It is the responsibility of each learner to verify that continuing education earned at CARE or elsewhere meets the requirements for their State and individual license.

About the Presenter: 

Alice LiuXia, LADC, LPCC, is a mental health professional at CARE Counseling. For the past several years, Alice LiuXia has done clinical work with substance use and recovery. Alice has a master’s in science, is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and has received clinical training in working with substance use disorders. She has received additional training and is certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy. Alice has delivered professional training presentations on motivational interviewing, co-occurring concerns, depression, trauma, and recovery pathways. Her clinical interests include substance use and recovery, life transitions, identity, and working with individuals who are interested in finding their place in the world as part of a minority community member.

To receive 1 CE credit(s): Clinicians will need to attend the full training hour and obtain a passing post test score (max of 3 attempts allotted).  CARE maintains attendance records of all continuing education event attendees for a period of at least three years.
