CARE Counseling has partnered with Asfia Qaadir, D.O. Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Jenna Kamholz, MA, LPCC, at PrairieCare to provide a Grand Rounds training on attachment and trauma related work with youth. This training with center the topic of trauma and offer clinical pearls for understanding the biology of trauma and how this impacts symptom presentation and therapeutic interventions, including medication management. Special focus will be on presenting the material as pertains to child development and impact of caregiving relationships.

About the Presenter:
Dr. Asfia Qaadir is a board-certified Child/Adolescent/Adult Psychiatrist who currently serves as the Clinical Consultant to Diversity Equity and Inclusion at PrairieCare-Newport Healthcare. She completed her clinical training at Mayo Clinic Rochester and has worked at PrairieCare since 2016. She treats patients with mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders in an interdisciplinary team setting. Dr. Qaadir has written articles, given interviews, spoken at local community events, and given multiple talks for caregivers, school staff, and healthcare workers on recognizing trauma, improving BIPOC mental health, and understanding the historical roots of racial trauma and implicit bias in healthcare.
Jenna Kamholz MS LPCC is a Minnesota Licensed Profession Clinical Counselor. Jenna is currently working at PrairieCare Partial Hospitalization Program in Maplewood, MN. Jenna has experience in the inpatient setting, outpatient setting and school setting. Jenna is passionate about educated and learning how to best support people in trauma. Jenna’s clinical practice and certifications center around trauma and children’s mental health.
