ADHD: A Pediatric Perspective on Diagnosis and Treatment | 1 CE Credit

CARE Counseling has partnered with South Lake Pediatrics to provide a Grand Rounds training on key aspects to know when working with ADHD. JoAnne Hoffman-Jecha, MD, Pediatrician and Mental Health Services Director, will provide an overview of executive functions in ADHD impairment and common comorbidities. She will also speak to the role of medications in the treatment of ADHD. 

CARE Psychotherapy Training Videos are intended solely for educational purposes for mental health professionals. Viewers are expected to treat confidential material found herein according to professional guidelines. Unauthorized viewing is prohibited.

Level of programming is introductory: assumes minimal with the topic.
 
The CARE Grand Rounds is intended to help attendees: 
1. Describe the importance of Executive Functions in ADHD impairment 
2. Discuss the role of medications in the treatment of ADHD 
3. Identify the interaction of ADHD and comorbidities 
 
The presentation is designated for psychologists and mental health professionals (LP, LPC/LPCC, MFT/LMFT, LGSW/LICSW, LADC), pre-licensed mental health practitioners, and students. 
 
CARE Counseling is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CARE maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

About the Presenter: 

JoAnne Hoffman Jecha, MD has been a pediatrician with South Lake Pediatrics at the Minnetonka location since 1994. She attended St. Olaf College, University of Minnesota Medical School and completed a residency in general pediatrics at the University of Minnesota. JoAnne serves as the Director of Mental Health Services at South Lake Pediatrics. She holds a board Certification with the American Board of Pediatrics and her special areas of interest include child development and behavior/mental health from infancy to teens. She also enjoys caring for both typical children and those with more complicated acute and chronic medical conditions. She also serves on the non-profit board for the Prairie Care Child and Family Fund.  *The speaker has indicated one conflict of interest of working at a facility that provides these services, however, there was no commercial support for this training.

CARE Counseling is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CARE maintains responsibility for this program and its content. It is the responsibility of each learner to verify that continuing education earned at CARE or elsewhere meets the requirements for their State and individual license.  

To receive 1 CE credit(s): Clinicians will need to attend the full training hour and obtain a passing post test score (max of 3 attempts allotted).  CARE maintains attendance records of all continuing education event attendees for a period of at least three years.
