Body Dysmorphic Disorder: Diagnosis, Case Conceptualization, Cultural Factors | 1 CE Credit

CARE Counseling is excited to have Dr. Samantha Kallberg, postdoctoral fellow at CARE, present on body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). Dr. Samantha will provide an overview of the diagnostic criteria, case conceptualization, and cultural factors to consider when working with this presenting concern. She will also share evidence-based assessment and theoretical approaches to working with BDD.

Level of programming is intermediate: assumes general familiarity with the topic. 
 
The CARE Grand Rounds is intended to help attendees: 
1. Describe key diagnostic criteria for body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) 
2. Name cultural factors to consider with BDD. 
3. Identify assessment measures for BDD. 
 
The presentation is designated for psychologists and mental health professionals (LP, LPC/LPCC, MFT/LMFT, LGSW/LICSW, LADC), pre-licensed mental health practitioners, and students.

About the Presenter: 

Dr. Samantha Kallberg is a post-doctoral fellow at CARE Counseling. She earned her PsyD in counseling psychology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Dr. Kallberg is passionate about spreading awareness and working with body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). She has completed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy training for BDD from Massachusetts General Hospital Psychiatry Academy.

CARE Counseling is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CARE maintains responsibility for this program and its content. It is the responsibility of each learner to verify that continuing education earned at CARE or elsewhere meets the requirements for their State and individual license.   

To receive 1 CE credit(s): Clinicians will need to attend the full training hour and obtain a passing post test score (max of 3 attempts allotted).  CARE maintains attendance records of all continuing education event attendees for a period of at least three years.
