CARE Counseling has partnered with NUWAY to provide an overview on Pandemic Trauma Stress Experience (PTSE) with substance use concerns. Joining us will be Kenneth L. Roberts, MPS, LPCC, LADC, the Chief Clinical Officer for the NUWAY Alliance and a Doctoral candidate in Behavioral Health. Epidemiological data highlights a potentiating increase in a range of behavioral health disorders including substance use following community-based trauma events. While these types of events typically effect significant portions of a population, none are comparable in scope, longevity, and potential impact to the recent Covid-19 Pandemic. Treatment professionals are now being faced with unique challenges in a landscape of elevated patient acuity. This presentation provides an overview of important behavioral health trends related to Pandemic Trauma and Stress Experience (PTSE) and a review of key evidence-based strategies necessary to achieve positive treatment outcome for complex co-occurring patient presentations.
